This photo is from the wonderful GialloZaferano blog, because we haven’t made this in a while, and I have no photos of ours at hand.
2 – 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
4 – 5 Fresh sage leaves, sliced up
2 Cans canellini beans, drained
1/2 Can tomato sauce, or to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
Heat the olive oil in a deepish saute pan over medium heat and add the chopped garlic and sage leaves.
Saute for several minutes until the garlic-sage perfume fills your kitchen.
Stir in the Canellini beans and the Tomato sauce and simmer over low heat for about 5 – 10 minutes.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with crusty bread as a meal, or as a side dish accompanying chops or a roast pork. It’s also delicious with a cut up cooked sausage stirred in.
