We are very, very excited. Our tangelo crop is ready to harvest. Now all we have to do is set aside a day or two for the work involved and invite some friends over to help.
Ugh. My suocero has a few citrus trees. The tangelo is by far the most needy (after the fig trees) but the one with the least return on investment. He pollinates it by hand. Removes unpollinated flowers. Moves it in and out of doors… it goes on and he’s been doing all this for 25 years! Max crop might have been 4 last year. So quite frankly, you are right on track. If I may ask, what do you plan to do with this bounty?? Just curious 😀
Oh, you wag! Makes me think of that Spencer Tracy line about Katherine Hepburn in “Pat and Mike”. “There ain’t much meat on her, but what there is is cherce.”

So like you to be greatful for the bounteous crop! I can see you selling your extra at the local farmers market!
Will there be a harvest party later?
Yes! What a good idea. We’ll share out whatever hasn’t been sold at the farmers’ market!
Don’t exhaust yourselves!
Will try not to.
